The LG Optimus Net lands, but it dissapoints

When the LG Optimus One came out last year, it specifications were high enough to give a good Android experience, and its Php12,990 suggest retail price made it the best budget Android in the market. Several price drops over the past ten months allowed it keep its title despite all challengers. Now, it's successor arrives, the LG Optimus Net has arrived with specifications nearly identical to the Optimus One the only major change being a faster 800MHz processor. Priced at Php9,990 it now looks a bit on expensive for what it offers.

At the same price point, you have the Smart Netphone with its best in class 3.5-inch 480 x 800 pixel resolution screen, which is much more visually impressive as compared to the 3.2-inch 320 x 480 screen on the Optimus Net. You also have the Sony Ericsson Mini, priced just a few hundred more, with its 1GHz Snapdragon processor.  The Mini advantage is not just 200MHz, it is the entire architecture of the processor. The Snapdragon gives the Mini, full Adobe Flash support, giving you a full web experience by allowing you to view Flash in the web browser.
The best news is, with the arrival of the Optimus Net, LG is offering its Optimus One for Php7,990 at LG Concept Stores and kiosks. If you held off on buying an Optimus One, waiting for the Optimus Net, I suggest you get an Optimus One while it is still available at the current promotional price.
